Jayendran Balasubramanian is the CEO and Founder of Cartesian Kinetics, leading the company in its mission to revolutionize warehouse automation with cutting-edge robotic solutions. With extensive experience in robotics innovation, he drives the vision behind the Carte+ robotic platform His strategic leadership encompasses R&D, business development, and operational management, positioning Cartesian Kinetics as a key player in the industry.

Jayendran’s background includes establishing and scaling successful ventures, such as NextFirst Engineering, where he delivered IP-led solutions. He also contributed significantly to GE Global Research, developing R&D test labs and automation projects. His academic credentials include a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay), both with a specialization in robotics and mechatronics. Jayendran’s leadership is characterized by a focus on technological advancement, strategic partnerships, and market expansion, driving Cartesian Kinetics towards achieving its business milestones and delivering exceptional value to its clients.

Jayendran lives in Campbell, CA loves to cook elaborate meals for friends and family over the weekends, and loves the outdoors.

Kimberly T. Barr

Kimberly Barr is the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Cartesian Kinetics, where she’s helping to reshape the future of logistics through retrofit robotics automation. With 18 years of experience in the logistics, automation, and tech sectors, Kimberly brings a deep understanding of how to scale innovation in complex, brownfield environments.

She started her career in the 3PL space and quickly developed a passion for solving real-world operational challenges. Over the years, she’s led business development, sales, and partnership efforts at companies like Fabric Robotics, Berkshire Grey, Cognex, and Choice Logistics—building and managing multi-million-dollar pipelines, closing high-impact enterprise deals, and launching partner programs from the ground up.

Kimberly’s strength lies in connecting vision to execution. Her leadership has consistently driven growth, from pre-IPO startups to industry leaders. She’s also a proud member of several engineering and leadership organizations and remains committed to mentoring the next generation of innovators in supply chain and automation.

An Ohio State Buckeyes fan through and through, Kim lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and their three children.

Veena Radhakrishna

Veena Radhakrishna is a product and operations leader with 18+ years of experience building technology solutions across automation, ecommerce, and enterprise systems. At Cartesian Kinetics, she led the development of Carte+, a retrofit robotic fulfillment platform designed to transform warehouse operations. From concept to launch, she’s driven technology strategy, team growth, and product delivery — all with a sharp focus on real-world impact and scale.

Prior to Cartesian, Veena helped scale NextFirst into a globally recognized automation firm, delivering 200+ projects and launching IP-led solutions for industrial and warehouse automation. She also co-founded Uralla Ecommerce, building a logistics platform that supported over 500,000 transactions.

Veena holds a Computer Science degree from RVCE and an MBA from IIM Bangalore. Known for her clarity and calm in complex environments, she also carves out time each year to hike in the Himalayas — a ritual that reflects her love for long journeys and bold climbs.

Sarjoun Skaff

Sarjoun is a robotics entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in robotics, AI and operations. He leads Cartesian’s product development with the unconcealed joy of working with a superb team across two continents, and of pioneering the new category of retrofit robotics.

Prior to Cartesian, Sarjoun was founder, CTO and CEO of Bossa Nova which pioneered another category, automated inventory management in retail stores. Bossa Nova deployed robots and cloud AI in 600 Walmart Supercenters, grew to 230 employees, raised $120M, and generated over $90M of revenue.

Sarjoun has expertise in running several types of businesses and operations, namely cloud-based enterprise software, hardware, manufacturing, and field operations. He holds a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, has won numerous awards, and is an inventor of more than ten patents.
